Infotext Peter Rom Trio
The Peter Rom Trio (Peter Rom, guitar, Raphael Preuschl, electric bass, and Jörg Mikula, drums) was founded in Vienna, 2002. The young musicians present an exciting musical concept that combines grooves and breathtaking improvisations all the same.
Peter Rom´s and Raphael Preuschl´s unique compositions make up the main part of the program, telling at times simple, at times sophisticated stories in a contemporary musical language.
The Peter Rom Trio gets its distinct sound through creative utililization of voluntarily reduced possibilities of a non digital ensemble.
The credit of the three musicians express a wide range of influences; from the American band ’The Eye’ to Dave Carpenter, from ’Nouvelle Cuisine’ to Wolfgang Puschnig , from ’Sandy Lopicic Orkestar’ to ’Timna Brauer’.
’The Art of Trio’, however, remains the main focus of the Peter Rom Trio.
